Inheritance of Shares tracking
When inheriting shares, the costs base is inherited in one of 2 ways: -Pre-1985 shares take the market value as at date of death -Post-1985 shares retain the original characteristics. Presently, there doesn't appear to be a way to track this inheritance within Navexa, which is important for tax considerations. Example: CBA shares may have been bought at initial float and then inherited in the 2020's. Given current CBA valuations, this is a significant captial gain which doesn't necessarily capture it's source correctly, and has significant tax implications as far as parcel selection. From, the perspective of an accountant (myself and likely others), this would be good to have in order to minimise tax on gains and be more selective with potential parcels, rather than having a standard buy function (and opening balance does not seem to be satisfactory given that the ATO wants full records, not just an amalgamation of the shares). So to summarise, 1 or 2 import methods which can identify pre-85 and post-85 shares without trying to track dividend performance and growth over that period (as it's highly skewed) and maintain the original attributes so that long and short gains can still apply correctly.
